What To Know

First and foremost, you must obtain a Texas hunting license with all the correct qualifications to be able to hunt within the state.

• You can obtain your license through https://tpwd.texas.gov/
• You can obtain your hunter education through https://www.hunter-ed.com/texas/sign-up/
• You must have a Federal Waterfowl Stamp
• You must have a Sandhill Crane permit if Crane hunting

• Camo Hunting Clothes
• Warm outer layer or inner layer of clothes and gloves ( expect 40 and below weather with windchills, rain, snow, sleet, etc.)
• Warm water proof boots 
• Rain gear (camo if possible)
• Drinks/Snacks
• Blind bag to keep equipment dry and clean (phone, shells, drinks, camera, etc.)
• Ear Protection
• Eye Protection
• Shotgun (12 gauge or 20 gauge)
• Ammo (3" - 3.5")
• Size Shot (4, 3, 2 or BB for Sandhill Crane)

• A safety meeting regarding the rules and regulations of the hunt will take place before we start.
• All clients who don't follow the rules will be asked to leave and not to come back.
• Dogs are welcome if discussed with Double X prior to hunt.
• You must follow all Texas and Federal laws.
